Why I Started I Am Girl Greatness

I didn’t start I Am Girl Greatness because it was trendy. I started it because it was necessary.
As a Black woman navigating a world that often overlooks the brilliance and potential of Black girls, I looked around and didn’t see safe, sacred spaces where our girls could grow—emotionally, spiritually, and socially. So, we built one.
What started as a vision has now become a vibrant movement. A place where girls host events, speak up with confidence, and choose joy in a world that doesn’t always make that easy. This is what greatness looks like—not just in the spotlight, but in the everyday. It’s in the way they speak up at school. The way they support each other in mentorship groups. The way they show up for themselves, even when life tries to dim their light.
We don’t just talk empowerment. We live it. We model it. We multiply it. And it’s our responsibility to keep showing up—for them, with them, beside them.
If you’re a parent, mentor, or educator, this is your invitation. Let’s build more greatness together.
